Wiley a british pioneer and godfather of grime msuic and british rap in the uk has shown his ulgy side. he claims that jay sean did not deserve his success in USA and turned racist saying that he can slap a turban of a sikh man., to jay sean fans this posting has not included much information- so may come as a shock, but it is important to realise that in such situations, it pays off to be professional, calm, and have a realisation of consequences. could this be the end of wiley? www.youtube.com/watch?v=mT82y-RnURcmaybe wiley is culturally challenged and thinks all asians are the same?? Wiley defends himself - www.rwdmag.com/2011/02/wiley-explains-his-racial-tweets-to-bobby-friction-audio/

What an ignorant childish discussion: "ethnic banta", "your race" "my race". Complete nonsense!

Is that so? I think you will find that you are the childish one making such a daft comment! If you don't like this thread then don't comment on it!

I wasn't talking about the thread i was talking about the linked radio discussion which is indeed childish and in fact pretty racist. By the way Wiley's comment on the Turban is outrageous. He even refused to apologise and he had no acceptable excuse for saying that. In fact he is the daft one.

Wiley stepped over a line - his argument is basically that because he's black, he can't really be racist towards indians or Sikhs - its just "ethnic banter"...
He claims that his turban comments were in response to derogatory comments made to him about his race by a Sikh tweeter. I can't find Wiley's tweets, or the Sikh guy's tweets, and I don't discount that there wasn't racial stuff thrown at Wiley, but that doesn't excuse his tweet or his behaviour, especially as a public figure.
He needs to be taken to task on this.

Absolutely!
He is an artist a celebrity so he has responsibility for his actions no matter what some noname tweeter said to him. His argument is pretty immature and he is justifying racism among ethnic communities which is totally unacceptable.
I am wondering why the Sikh community is silent about this case although this was a very serious offence.
I just don't understand how can someone get away with this in the UK without official investigation.

Drop an e-mail to United Sikhs - if enough people contact them they'll get on the case...

saying he will knock off someones turban is not ethnic banter- shizio made a track dedicated to this incident www.youtube.com/watch?v=mT82y-RnURcif wiley gets away with this- not only will it give him more credibility as an artist but it will work in his favour as jay sean will be working with him again. Its a shame Bobby friction is not articulate enough to express how he feels and has an inability to ask direct questions to wiley. Maybe if he knew more about sikhism he could have taken that opportunity to educate wiley on sikhism. Wiley is more intelligent then bobby friction as he shows a greater understanding of his own comments. Wiley will only learn about Sikhism by experiencing calm mature Sikhs.
