O.M.G. I was just reading some old post and I can see why this site has little activity. No offence to the admin but some of you are sooooooo formal n booooring! There are so many different types of people in the world and this website has conformed to become a "proper" Sikh lgbt website. I think is very unfair that people can't be themselves on this forum and if admin doesnt like something personally the remove it.... yeah some things are out of order but some of you need to lighten up. Why is everything so serious......? Live life like everyday is your last.

Defo!! Not enough personality into it. People need to lighten up because it scares people away like yourself. Lol.
I think the user interface needs to be changed as its very dated.
How come it took you so long to sign up?

What do I get for doing this? ;D

hmm - what took me so long to sign up? I don't think I am alone when I say I’ve been looking in on this forum but not really felt the need to sign up - after all I wasn't intending to post anything... I just wanted to feel the vibe of forum and there isn't much activity going on...
you've hit the nail on the head, Jazzy! This forum does lack personality...! The main audience is a minority of a minority! one you’re gay (curious or what have you) and second you’re Sikh.. Google search got me here...
I'm gay and I’m Sikh! well I'm here now, what I really would like to see is a one stop shop... various discussion board groups which will appeal to all types of people, not everything has it be debate or discussion. The tempo is so formal! How about something like this:
Fun & Games: Q&A quizzes, word association games Those fun things to make your day go faster and threads grow longer
Events and social gatherings: Use this space to promote your club night, venue or any other special event of interest. Can be religions and non religious.. A Keertan, Rensbhai event or a Indian gay club night?
Making Friends & Finding Dates: Making Friends & Finding Dates. Broaden your circle of friends, meet visitors coming to London. You might be living in the midlands and planning a trip to London, need someone to show you the gay scene?
the aim is to get you to engage and talk to you each other.. a social network on tap whenever you need it. We are here because we have 2 things in common... it's good to talk :-)

Thanks dude. I'm glad someone agrees with me!! It is an eye sore to look at the threds. You know what would be cool if there was also a space with information for parents. My mum said to me is there a website for Sikh parents who want help or be able to chat to parents going through the same thing. Sarbat could be a huge online phenomenon... if they made alliances wither other lgbt groups it would be great. Not every one on this forum is Sikh also. Yeah.. there are loads of gay Asian nights, the one in brum is wack..full of straight Asian looking for a 3some... lol I have Baaaare ideas that would make this form absolutely amazing. It needs a lot of time n dedication though...

sounds like you've just volunteered yourself for the job! :-)
Space for Sikh parents of gay children would be good, though I would favor it to be outside of this forum. I too have thought the same, in fact - the only reason I stumbled on to this forum was because I was trying to find a book or article written in Punjabi for Parents with gay kids.
There are a few Asian nights in London, I've not been to one for many years but when I did go - they were really good, friendly crowd and fun. The night is called Club Kali - if it's still running and you've never been - it's worth a visit.
:-)

Your suggestions will be taken on board but remember it's very easy to criticize.
The best thing any one could do here is actually make posts and topics instead of pointing out the flaws. Yes we all know there is little activity. That is stating the obvious. The lack of enthusiasm has not gone unnoticed, but what we need is every person to make a 'positive' contribution. Recently the forum has seen more people logging in, so it can't be as 'boring' as you claim.
The issues that people have been discussing on the board are important so please don't undermine them. If you don't like them don't read them or simply create your own topics to get others engaged.
There are a variety of tastes and posters here and we'll try our best to cater for everyone.

Wow! Easy there girl! Don’t jump the gun – I wasn’t saying it was boring! Just making an outsiders observation of the little activity that is going on and some suggestions on things that could improve members contribution. I’m a newbie member myself and took the plunge to join after sitting on the fence for a few months...
The simple existence of this forum is absolutely fantastic! I only wish it came to birth years ago when I struggled to “come out”...
I apologize if you felt I was finding flaws, it was not intended... just like you – I fully support the success of this forum and wish for it to continuously blossom!

Maybe the tone of my last post was misinterpreted a little. I was just trying to point out that there are some positives here too despite the tumbleweed I appreciate both your views. Thanks for your suggestions, we'll try to implement some of them in the coming months. Also, welcome to the forum. We hope you'll find the forum useful, fun and not too boring We encourage all members to engage in the forum by posting.

Well it is not at all constructive criticism when you call the forum and the members boring and their threds an eyesore especially without any attempt to make it better. If we are boring then this is what we are and you are part of it so blame yourself as well. I really don`t like the tone of your last few posts in this topic and some parts of them are not even true. This is an LGBT Sikh site and it should remain like that as this is the only one that actually operates. There are many LGBT South Asian websites and clubs so i don`t think we should create another one but this is just my opinion. And it is not true that you can not be yoursef on this site. No one said you have to be a proper Sikh or whatever. I don`t know where did you get that idea from... Everyone is entitled to share opinion in this forum and no one have been stopped from that. I would have been the first one to complain if that happened. Sharing porn pictures and stuff does not fall into the category of freedom of speech. I think the moderator is doing a good job whoever she/he is. I think instead of complaining and attacking those who created the forum or trying to keep it alive you should maybe take action and put some time and effort into it for the benefit of all of us. Thanks! Well... I did say it wae boring but I think it isn't just down to the user interface page it self... its the members also...
