Hi,
Well I’ve had different reactions and came out to family members at different times. First was my brother and he was super supportive and happy and just totally there for me. Then my sister a few years later and then my mum a few years later again. Mum was very mixed with emotion. Ultimately she hugged me and said God has made me the way I am and it’s no ones fault. Mum was confused at first as she thought I wanted to be a guy - because I like women. But with time she understood. Then things got serious when I got engaged and had a wedding date booked and dad still didn’t know!! Mum kindly did the honour and my dad was just confused but told me he wanted some time. My parents were both born in India and immigrated in the 70’s. I feel they took the news exceptionally well compared to what I was expecting.

Wow... I am really happy that things worked out for you! Its great to hear that! I wonder if Indian parents who immigrant to the UK are more likely to be supportive of their queer kids than those who immigrate to America like mine...
