SSA dear everyone, This thread is for questions and discussion around the monthly LGBT+ Sikh meetups that we'e organizing in Birmingham. We really hope to see you there! This is an invaluable chance to forge friendships, supportive emotional and social networks to help you own and celebrate your identity as a LGBT+ Sikh. There's much change going on in the world right now and it is such an important time to be speaking and living our truth. And as Sikhs, we are lucky to have the Guru's love and support on our path as well! The meetups are at Mata Tripta Darbar in Erdington, well out of the way of the usual Sikh haunts of Handsworth and Smetwick. We are an independent darbar that seeks to inspire and empower every individual Sikh to actively participate in all Gurdwara seva. We provide a safe and accepting space for Sikh and seeker alike to come and connect spiritually to their own Soul and to the Guru. www.sarbat.net/2016/10/2016-2017-monthly-sarbat-meetups-in-birmingham/Please join us. We would love to have you. Your life matters. Blessings and chardi kalaa, Saranpreet Kaur

The next upcoming event is on November 6th, at 1pm. 176 A Streetly Road, B23 7AL.
Our theme for this meetup is playful: "All The Colors Of The Rainbow".
We come together to celebrate our diversity, life experiences, individuality and spirituality. Honoring our godgiven gifts and talents, the things that make us special and unique. Honoring ourselves and each other as the gifts to the planet that we are. And how does that relate to being LGBT+ ?
If you like, dress up in a colorful piece of clothing, or why not a colorful turban (if you like to wear one). Let's have some fun! And most importantly - bring yourself, as you are.
Love Saran
